Dane Arnold, singer/songwriter joined forces with Tulsa guitarist Johnny Mullenax to form Dane & the Soup in 2018. With ques to retro soul the group has developed its sound with residencies at renowned Tulsa venues such as Cain’s Ballroom and The Colony. Boasting a tight horn section and phenomenal rhythm musicians, the Soup bring to light Dane Arnold’s soulful vocal presence. Dane and the Soup bring an original twist to a nostalgic sound with an ode to artists like Al Green, Sly & the Family Stone, and comparisons to modern artists such as Allen Stone, Citizen Cope, and Anderson Paak. Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dane and the Soup follow a tradition of songwriting around topics of escapism, relationships, family, and drug abuse. Bridging the past and future of the soul genre, Dane and the Soup provide a reflective experience to the listener with no shortage of rhythm and groove.
